Outside Dinner

Last weekend the weather on Sunday was beautiful! We decided it would be nice to fire up the grill and have our dinner outside. Both boys loved this, of course.

Here's Everett having his first go at a bowl of applesauce all on his own. No Mommy or Daddy trying to feed him with a spoon and keep things neat = a big messy bowl of fun!

I have NO pictures of a messy Anderson eating because he did not/does not like to be messy or have his hands messy. So, this was cute to see Everett just go after the applesauce.

Anderson got to have his first popsicle of the season. He was happily eating it when we suddenly heard him exclaim that "it's bleeding!" Of course, we had to explain that it was melting and then quickly clean his hands off for the reason just mentioned above. He wanted to take his shirt off so it wouldn't get dirty.

And of course....then he got cold.

Allison Van Neumann

Last Thursday night I went with a few girlfriends to an art studio where an instructor walks you step-by-step through the process of completing a painting. Everyone in attendance completes the same painting and the atmosphere is fun and laid-back. We all had a wonderful time.

The painting of the night was based on Van Gogh's Iris. Here's the masterpiece that Van Gogh created:

Here is the instructor's interpretation that we were all copying:

We are still trying to decide where to hang this lovely new art addition. The leading location at the moment is the toilet room in our master bathroom! ;)

Go Slow, Bud!

We took the rocker off of Everett's Mickey Mouse Car. Of course, it didn't take long for this to begin:

Both boys had a blast doing this up and down the hallway for a good long while. Amazingly, no one was injured! ;)

Everett's First Haircut

Poor Everett- his crazy hair was so long it kept hanging in his eyes and over his ears. We had to go get it cut today. Anderson was thrilled at the prospect and had it all planned out that Everett was going to sit in the yellow car at the salon and he was going to sit in the red car. We kept explaining over and over that it might not work out that way, but lucky for Anderson it did. He was very excited. Everett was good with the whole process for the most part. He became antsy toward the end so Reese and I had to put on a few performances for him. Anderson was 1 year old when he got his first cut, so he was interested in watching Elmo on the small TV while getting his hair cut. But, Everett has no interest in watching anything so it was difficult to keep him still. Overall it was a fun experience for everyone and Reese and I got to again be "those parents" who went crazy with the camera and picture taking.

Here are the before and afters and some in-between:

Ski Trip!

This weekend we had a wonderful get-away ski weekend at Santa Fe, NM. We met up with Grandpa Billy & Nana B at an awesome house near downtown Santa Fe. We had a great time skiing, eating yummy Mexican food and spending time together. It went by way too fast, but we're already looking forward to next year's trip! Here are some quick highlights of the trip. If I find time over the next few days, I'll come back and add some more pictures and stories!

Anderson was invited to go visit the pilots on the flight before take-off. He enjoyed seeing all of the buttons! Here he is giving his version of a salute.

Anderson & Everett checking out things on the ground before take-off. Both boys did AMAZING on both flights. Everett is a big fan of sleeping on Reese's chest and Anderson was thrilled with the opportunity to watch Toy Story and eat lots of yummy snacks.

Everett spent some great quality time with Nana B while we all went skiing both days. I know Everett loved the one-on-one time!

The Neumann Skiers!

On the second day we pulled Anderson out of ski school to take him on the bunny slope with us for a few runs. We were really impressed with how well he did considering he's only 2. The instructors at the ski school were impressed with his willingness to try and keep going!

Here's a highlight video of Anderson's skiing!

Picture Time!

The other day Reese and I walked into the living room to find Anderson sitting in Everett's baby 'rocking car' happily playing with his Mickey Mouse Laptop. I can just imagine the sheer determination in his eye as he formed this idea and executed it!

Look at this big boy! Isn't he just too cute? Don't you just want to squeeze those chunky legs?

Evidence that Everett really needs a haircut soon. It's hanging down into his eyes and generally just goes in every direction. This pic is of Everett at the pond watching Big Bro fish and feed the ducks.

Last weekend the weather was so pretty so of course we had to get outside. Reese and Anderson love going to the local lake and fishing. Doesn't Anderson look like a natural here?

Surprisingly this picture was taken a few minutes after both boys woke up for the morning. If only every morning was this happy for all parties!

Obstacle Course

It's been a long few days cooped up inside due to the icy roads and cold temps! So, I figured it would be fun for Anderson to run an obstacle course. He loved the concept and had fun completing it- so much in fact that he just kept on going!
