And...I'm....... Sleeeeeeepping.

I've always wondered when it would finally happen.  Anderson has always been a regimented sleeper: in his bed, his white noise machine on, darkened room, etc.  I've wondered about those kids that you hear about who just fall asleep while playing.  Well, he finally did it.  We're entering into the nap-dropping zone.  Some days he naps, some days he doesn't.  So, some days I tell him to just play up in his room for some quiet time.  Well, the other day I realized after awhile that there was no longer the sound of his playing coming through the monitor.  So, I ventured up there, camera in hand.  Sure enough he had fallen asleep.  Not only had he fallen asleep while playing, he actually fell asleep ON his beloved Lightning McQueen car toy.

When Anderson and Daddy went camping, Everett and Mommy had a quiet and relaxing weekend.  One thing that Everett loves: someone's undivided attention.  He's turning into such a little ham and he loves getting a reaction from people.  Here are a few pictures I snapped as I just followed Everett around for an hour or so.

Anderson's Camping Trip

Daddy took Anderson on his first camping trip this past weekend.  They went camping with 5 of Anderson's playgroup friends and all of their Daddies at Grapevine Lake.  So, it was a big Daddy/Son & one Daddy/Daughter weekend!  All of the moms were a little skeptical of how the event would actually turn out- you know, worries about sunscreen, if our kiddos would wear the same clothes for 48 hours straight, if they would eat anything other than s'mores and Cheetos.  I personally was super confident since I am the lucky Mom who sent her son camping with an Eagle Scout Daddy.  In fact, I let Reese do most of the packing and waved them good-bye with a giant grin on my face.  

They had a great time.  Anderson was the only kiddo who not only slept both nights at the campsite in his tent, but also took his nap there!  There's no doubt where those sleeping abilities come from (Daddy can fall asleep anywhere in ~1 minute). 

There was lots of fishing!  Reese and Anderson go fairly often to local ponds, so they were the pros.  By the end of the trip Reese had helped every kid make a catch and I'm sure set a love of fishing into their hearts, which was his ultimate goal I'm sure.  Anderson's so lucky to have an outdoorsy dad! 

This weekend gave me my first glimpse of what weekends will be like when the boys are older.  All of my guys head out on Friday and come home exhausted on Sunday with loads of excitement.  My future reward (other than their happiness)?  Weekends to myself.  :)

June 24th is Coming

What's happening on that day, you ask?  Well, hello!  It's the premier date for Cars 2.  A hugely important day for a certain blonde-haired boy who owns over 100 of the die-cast Cars character cars and has his bedroom covered top-to-bottom in Cars paraphernalia.  Anderson is SO excited about the new movie.  It will be his first movie theater experience and he can't wait.  He already knows many of the new characters' names and, yes, even already owns some of them. 

So, imagine Anderson's surprise when a HUGE box literally showed up as a surprise on our front porch last week with Lightning McQueen plastered all over it.  Anderson was actually speech-less.  He was SO excited to find out that inside the giant cardboard monstrosity was indeed a Lightning McQueen car just for him to drive.  Thanks for the awesome surprise, Nana B!

And of course, wanting to be fair, Nana B also had a "Lil' Lightning McQueen" sent for Everett which arrived a few days later.  Everett LOVES the fact that he has something like Big Brother.  He can't quite steer yet, but watching him (13 months old and all his glory) riding in his car makes me laugh so hard. 

So, thanks again, Nana B for what I'm sure is to be endless hours of fun and excitement from these cars!  Reese and I are very much living vicariously through their happiness!

It was after I taped this and started wondering why he looked preoccupied during his walking that I discovered he was chewing on some random piece of plastic that he had picked up somewhere before I walked in the room!  My Little Stinker- he's literally into everything and we find the most random things in the most random places due to this guy!
